Summer Fun

Well, so far summer has brought us a lot of changes and fun adventures.

Sometimes I seriously wish I could just make time stand still; I want more of our happy fun moments to last days and days! But, as they say each day brings a new adventure right? So true with a baby ha-ha!

We finally lived up to our 'we're going to move soon' and moved to Logan! I am soo happy to be here and settled. Well, I still have boxes to unpack, rooms to organize and a house to finish decorating, but we'll get there. We picked a really nice little townhouse and we love it so far! The little complex has some really nice people, and most of them have young children! I am so excited to be around more people our age and who are in our same stage of life. Now I- we- just need to make friends...ha-ha.

This apartment is definitely very different from our last one. First of all, it has an upstairs and a downstairs. A totally new experience, especially with a baby who is really good at crawling and has recently now learned to pull herself up and climb. But she is actually pretty good at crawling up the stairs, as long as we stay right behind her (of course). We just have to work on going back down...ugh. It has been nice to have the house more separated though. I also like having a kitchen without a washer and dryer in it, except now they are in our bathroom upstairs, which is sorta weird and kind-of cramped. But its all good. The other thing we love about this place is central air--wow is it nice! I have only lived in one other home with central air, so its a luxury for us for sure! The only other small downside to our new home, is we've had some bug problems, but we're hoping we've maybe got a handle on it. All in all, I think we made a good decision picking this one for our family.

It was harder than I thought it would be to leave our little home in Brigham. I think I grew to love living there a lot more than I realized. I am a city girl at heart, but little Brigham City has a special place in my heart now! I would live there again someday I think. (And we just might you never know!) I miss the crazy little things, like our Walmart, (because i already know where everything is...so lame right?) feeling comfortable walking around the neighborhood or going to church, or sitting out on our little front lawn playing with Aria. But, we have a great new place now to make lots of new memories with our family.

Little Aria is 9 months now! I am literally dying at the thought that she'll be a year old in two months. It is insane to think that just 9 months ago she became ours to cherish and keep forever! It has honestly probably been the most amazing, hard, tiring but most rewarding 9 months of my life. And it has only to continue. I am really starting to see that she is leaving a lot of her little baby ways behind her. I can not believe how much she talks and babbles. Its hilarious. I think she will be a very talkative little girl! She is also trying to be more mobile, but at a kind-of slow pace. She is super into pulling herself up, but she mostly just likes to stand there doesn't really try and walk or anything yet. Which is OK. I am going to let her do things at her own pace. Although I'm sure in another month or so, she'll try her hand at walking. Ahh! She is our little stinker sometimes, but she brings us more joy than anything else in our lives.

Aria also got to go camping for the first time a couple of days before the 4th of July. I have to admit, I was kinda nervous about it. Especially since I am not a camper myself, like at all. But Keith's parents invited us to go to Yellowstone with them and stay overnight, so I decided we could all handle one night. I've decided that I love nature, but don't necessarily like living in it...And I absolutely LOVE Yellowstone, and I've been dying to go, so this was perfect. And Keith's family are good campers, and so it was actually really nice! (Thanks for putting up with me ha-ha) It ended up not being bad at all! Aria seemed to have a good time camping and looking at everything. She loved all the hikes we went on, and was happy as a clam until we had to put her in her car-seat! But we had a lot of fun and got to see some beautiful things.

All right, Picture time! Forgive the excessive photos I post...

Aria in her little 4th of July outfit- these were the best pictures I could get of her holding still!

Hiking in Yellowstone! She loved being carried around by daddy! Daddy got a good workout!

More Yellowstone fun!

Working on those stairs....
Aria has developed a big love for books! She loves to read books and half the time prefers them to toys! I am so happy that she likes to read!

This little stinker also loves her snacks. Probably not a good thing. She loves Cheerios, yogurt bites and baby Cheetos, and basically any cracker type thing we can give her.

Newest update!

It has been way too long since I posted an update. Sorry for that; with all that’s been going on with us, I made the decision to not be on social media as much to help my mental health. But I know that’s left people wondering how we are doing. It’s been a pretty hard and depressing time, and so I have kind of kept to myself and my family the last little while.  What a rollercoaster the last half a year has been for me and my little family. Getting a cancer diagnosis is such a scary thing. It’s also very frustrating and emotional and confusing. There is so much that is now known about Leukemia, but also so much that is still unknown. And there is not a 100% guarantee that my cancer won’t come back. I’m working on coming to terms with that. I am attempting to invest all my time in to make sure I’m living my best life in the present moment. This is hard to do, and to be honest most days the last few months I’ve been in pure survival mode. I’ve been lucky if I can get out of bed in t...

Family update (April 2020)

Family update (April 2020) Living through the Corona Virus (apocalypse) Epidemic With all that happened to our family during 2019 (really the tail end of 2019), I think we expected the new year to be much better. We anticipated a fresh start to feeling on top of things, improving our lives, starting new adventures. Then March 2020 rolled around and was like- “ha, smack in the face, let’s start some chaos.” To give it some credit, the year didn’t start out too bad. I became determined to get healthier and get my body back into shape and feeling better, (like how about feeling like I’m 28 not 54…) So, beginning in January I started exercising at least 3 times a week, and eating a healthier diet. I have lost about 6 to 7 lbs. so far! (Although I’m sure I’ve gained it all back with stress from the stupid corona virus and being quarantined with a house full of freaking food) I’ve been proud of myself, though I still have a long way to go. Another good thing is that our girls...

Accepting

I've decided that I must have been over confident in heaven about accepting all the different trials I was going to have to face here on earth. I must have somehow known that I would be able to get through them. Because man I've already been through so much in my 31 years of life. And I tell you what; after being diagnosed with Leukemia, I'll be honest and say that I hope I don't have any more big surprise trials for at least a little while. I think I need a get out of trials free card or something.  I was listening to music as I was walking the halls of the hospital the other day. I created a play list that has empowering songs that I can listen to while I go through this difficult and often draining time. The song Brave by Sara Bareilles started playing. For those of you who don't know, the song is about being brave enough to speak your mind, brave enough to be seen and heard by a world that doesn't always want you to be. I kind of took in the lyrics of the so...
