Aria Turns ONE!!!

Alright, so it has been like months since I last blogged...I totally knew that would happen. Ha-ha oh well. :)

Well, our little Princess Aria turned one last month! We can hardly believe it! It came and went so fast. This past year has felt like a dream at times. There have been so many new ups and downs with parenthood. But none that we would trade for anything. Keith and I love being parents, and Aria has become such a special part of our lives. It excites both of us to see our little family grow, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for us.

Little Aria has changed so much, and continues to every single day. It's not a lie when people tell you that your kids will grow up too fast. Aria has developed so many new skills and her personality is just blossoming. She is really quite hilarious. Her vocabulary has skyrocketed. I cant believe how many different little words she can say, or mimic. Some of our favorites, are Hi, and Hello, touch, eyes, uh-oh, all-done, and ta-da! She can say a few more, but these are the ones she says the most right now. She still isn't saying mamma a lot yet though...we are working on that one. ;) Every time she sees a picture of Keith, no matter who else he's with, she says "There's daddy!" It is adorable. Although, she also kind of says that to any picture she looks at right now. She just talks and babbles on all day long, sometimes in a very loud high pitched voice. She is very animated and cracks us up all the time. One of her new tricks she picked up a few weeks ago is shaking her little finger at us and telling us how it is.

She is a growing girl too! She is 20 lbs, 30 in; is in size 18 months and size 4 shoes and diapers. Her length kills me- she grows out of her clothes so fast because of it! I blame it all on Keith, Because we all know she didn't get her height from me...

She is a pretty fussy/picky eater. She still nurses multiple times during the day. However I am slowly trying to cut back on it, and she's not liking it too much. She is starting to grow out of her baby food too, We are desperately trying to feed her everything her little body needs to grow and be healthy, but she sometimes just wont eat! Its a very tricky business. ;)

The most exciting thing that has happened with Aria, is she has finally learned to walk!! YAY!! We honestly thought for sure that she would be walking by her birthday, but she wasn't. And that's OK. She has started to walk just before it however. But she didn't really like doing it, and was very wobbly on her legs. Now, she has finally decided that it is fun to walk and she is doing it more and more! She is getting better everyday. She just smiles and looks to us for praise whenever she walks. Which of course we give her because we are soo excited that she is walking! But now we are totally in trouble, she is into everything already!!

I had been so excited to plan her first birthday party for months, and so somehow I ended up throwing one together on her birthday (Sep 20th) and it was so much fun! We did it at a little park in Brigham City, and it was just family that came. (she doesn't really have any little friends yet.) Everyone was so sweet and helped out so much- we want to give you all a big thank you!! You all spoiled Aria and we are so grateful for all you did! She loves all her gifts by the way ;) Anyway, so her party theme was pink and gold. It was so much fun to create and look through ideas on Pinterest! It was the perfect girly/princessy first birthday theme. Keith was wonderful with helping put up the decorations at the park, they looked wonderful! pictures below...  We did a little cake for her, but  we forgot the candle, so we just sang to her and then let her go at it! Mind you, all she did was pick the Cheerios off the top, smear some frosting around and then get upset because her hands were messy. LOL. She is probably the only 1 year old I know that didn't smash her cake! That's my girl though ;). But all in all it turned out to be a great day. Aria was very tired by the end.

There's not too much else to report. We are loving this fall weather, its so beautiful! Keith is busy as ever with school, and is always studying, He works so hard and I am so grateful. We also recently got to enjoy LDS Conference weekend together as a family- which is the first time we have been able to since we've been married. It was very nice, and so uplifting. The church is true!! Keith and I feel so blessed to have our happy, healthy family.

More soon!

--Ok, I am really super sorry about the picture overload....but I had to post a bunch from her birthday, and then others and....yeah. Sorry not sorry. :)  Enjoy!!

This is a video of some of Aria's first steps! This was the beginning of September.

OK, side note on this pic--since Aria didn't smash her cake, my cousin Amy and Keith decided it needed to be smashed, so he promptly smashed it in my face...thanks Keith!! -That's my hubby!

 New Carseat--the big one!! Crazy!
Peanutbutter rash...lets hope it doesn't get any worse than this... :(
You cant really tell in this pic, but for one of the table decorations for Aria's party, we spray painted glass jars with gold glitter and put beautiful fresh flowers from my Grandma's garden. I loved how it turned out!

Newest update!

It has been way too long since I posted an update. Sorry for that; with all that’s been going on with us, I made the decision to not be on social media as much to help my mental health. But I know that’s left people wondering how we are doing. It’s been a pretty hard and depressing time, and so I have kind of kept to myself and my family the last little while.  What a rollercoaster the last half a year has been for me and my little family. Getting a cancer diagnosis is such a scary thing. It’s also very frustrating and emotional and confusing. There is so much that is now known about Leukemia, but also so much that is still unknown. And there is not a 100% guarantee that my cancer won’t come back. I’m working on coming to terms with that. I am attempting to invest all my time in to make sure I’m living my best life in the present moment. This is hard to do, and to be honest most days the last few months I’ve been in pure survival mode. I’ve been lucky if I can get out of bed in t...

Family update (April 2020)

Family update (April 2020) Living through the Corona Virus (apocalypse) Epidemic With all that happened to our family during 2019 (really the tail end of 2019), I think we expected the new year to be much better. We anticipated a fresh start to feeling on top of things, improving our lives, starting new adventures. Then March 2020 rolled around and was like- “ha, smack in the face, let’s start some chaos.” To give it some credit, the year didn’t start out too bad. I became determined to get healthier and get my body back into shape and feeling better, (like how about feeling like I’m 28 not 54…) So, beginning in January I started exercising at least 3 times a week, and eating a healthier diet. I have lost about 6 to 7 lbs. so far! (Although I’m sure I’ve gained it all back with stress from the stupid corona virus and being quarantined with a house full of freaking food) I’ve been proud of myself, though I still have a long way to go. Another good thing is that our girls...

Accepting

I've decided that I must have been over confident in heaven about accepting all the different trials I was going to have to face here on earth. I must have somehow known that I would be able to get through them. Because man I've already been through so much in my 31 years of life. And I tell you what; after being diagnosed with Leukemia, I'll be honest and say that I hope I don't have any more big surprise trials for at least a little while. I think I need a get out of trials free card or something.  I was listening to music as I was walking the halls of the hospital the other day. I created a play list that has empowering songs that I can listen to while I go through this difficult and often draining time. The song Brave by Sara Bareilles started playing. For those of you who don't know, the song is about being brave enough to speak your mind, brave enough to be seen and heard by a world that doesn't always want you to be. I kind of took in the lyrics of the so...
